A Brief History of Nocturne
The continent of Nocturne is one that is bathed in shadow. This is caused because of the harsh tilt of the Earth’s axis that only allows a small window of sun to shine through. This results in the entire continent to be plague by a biting cold and for its people to survive a seemingly endless and eternal night.

There is a myth told to the children of the Empire by the Priestesses of Sol that the reason for Nocturne’s eternal darkness is that there god, Auritrix the Lightbringer, was so disgusted with the people of Nocturne that to punish them, it refused to grant them the beauty of its light.

It is a country shrouded in magicks all stemming from the worship of Void, a swirling miasma said to reside in the countries underworld, known as the Abyss. Access is limited to those that have been indoctrinated and only through the Abyss Gates, found near the Seven Great Halls of Nocturne.

The country is controlled by seven families, Kage, Dornenkrone, Blight, Braken, Grimoire, Umber, but ruled by House Nero.
